When life gets heavy — sickness, anxiety, sleepless nights, seasons that feel like they'll never end — sometimes what your soul needs most isn't another productivity hack or self-help strategy. It needs rest. Real rest. The kind Jesus talked about when He said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).^1
Soul Rest is a free web platform that brings together over 500 Christian meditations and meditative prayers from a growing community of creators — including Christ Centered Tribe, Encountering Peace, Alabaster Co, Rush Podcast, and Dwell Bible App — all in one place.^2 Each meditation is rooted in Scripture and designed to help you slow down, breathe, and be still with God. Whether you need five minutes of calm before bed or a longer guided prayer through a hard season, the library covers topics like anxiety, stress, sleep, purity, healing, worship, and encountering the Holy Spirit. A "Panic Button" offers immediate access to a calming meditation when you need it most, and a "Pick a Random Meditation" feature helps you discover content you might not have found on your own.^2
Built by Cameron Pak — a developer, husband, and father who experienced the healing power of biblical meditation firsthand during a season of chronic illness — Soul Rest was born from personal need. "When I was at the peak of my chronic sickness, Christian meditations based on the Bible, Way of Jesus, and connecting deeply with God, were the tools that helped bring peace to the storm," Pak wrote. "I could be in the hardest point in my life but still be able to breathe lightly because I was learning to be content and be still, with God."^1 The project is open source and was originally created as part of the Baserow Developer Challenge in early 2024.^3
Soul Rest isn't trying to compete with meditation apps that charge subscriptions or lock content behind paywalls. It's an open table — a place where Christian content creators can freely share their work and believers everywhere can access it at no cost. Creators can submit their meditations to be featured on the platform, and new content is regularly curated from YouTube, RSS feeds, and direct submissions.^4 It's community-driven in the truest sense: the Body of Christ coming together to help each other find peace.
