Rock RMS is an open-source church management platform from Spark Development Network, a 501(c)(3) built so churches of every size can share the same tools.^1 It keeps people, families, check-in, giving and finance, events, workflows, prayer, and reporting in one place, then uses those records for email, SMS, push notifications, websites, mobile apps, and TV apps.^2 Engagement tools cover groups, scheduling, connections, sign-ups, and Steps for pathways such as baptism, membership, and volunteering.^2 Spark now ships AI Agents that work inside a staff member's own permissions—looking up people, updating records, and drafting communications—along with AI-powered prayer moderation and automated self-harm alerts. Live testing of those agents was out of scope for this review.^2 Jon Edmiston started Spark after thirteen years leading Creative Technologies at Christ's Church of the Valley.^3 Churches can self-host or use official cloud partners Rock Cloud and Cloud 9.^4 The software is free under a donation-supported model with no license fees.^5 The homepage says Rock powers 10 of the 12 largest churches in the nation.^1
