Lingua Deo Gloria provides free Biblical Hebrew and Koine Greek instruction, readers, and stories, helping the global Church read God's Word in its original languages. The teaching stands on comprehensible input: students acquire Hebrew and Greek by understanding messages, through stories, pictures, and conversation, rather than memorizing paradigms first. Grammar comes later, once the patterns are already familiar, and students speak, listen, read, and write from the first lesson.^1
Each course opens in the browser, with nothing to install, no account, and no cost. Every word and line is read aloud, and practice is built in: fill-in-the-blank readings, checkpoints at the end of each unit, and review that brings words back before they are forgotten. Free live online classes run in twelve-week cohorts, meeting once a week for 90 minutes, conducted primarily in Hebrew or Greek, with small classes and real conversation.^2 A new Greek and Hebrew web app was announced on October 26, 2026.^3
Alongside the courses, Lingua Deo Gloria Publishing produces visual readers, storybooks, and children's books in Hebrew and Greek, every page illustrated and every book free to read.^1 The resources serve pastors, missionaries, Bible translators, seminary students, churches, schools, families, and individuals, and churches and schools may freely use, share, print, and distribute the materials.^4
Founder Sawyer D. Moranville began studying Koine Greek and Classical Hebrew at Southern Seminary, which led to an M.Div. He then moved to Jerusalem, earning a master's degree in Classical Hebrew through the Institute for Biblical Languages and Translation (Whole Word Institute), and now serves as director of Youth Education at Graterford Bible Fellowship Church.^5 Instructors Benjamin Eisenberg and Scott McQuinn build and teach the curriculum with him.^5 Moranville explains the free model this way: "When biblical education becomes inaccessible, the whole church suffers."^6 The ministry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with no fees, no ads, and no paywalls, paid for by people who give.^1
"I went from knowing words and slowly translating sentences to thinking, hearing, and speaking Biblical Hebrew, without constantly translating in my head." - Garrett Eusebio, Tennessee^1
"An amazing opportunity to learn New Testament Greek with outstanding teachers who love Jesus." - Carol Saia, former missionary, Lynnwood, Washington^1
Notable:
- The children's beginner books in Biblical Hebrew (2023) and Biblical Greek (2024) were reviewed in the Journal of Classics Teaching, and the Greek book's full text is available free on the ministry's website.^7
