Giving a child a smartphone does not have to mean handing them every image the open internet can serve. Canopy is Netspark's content filter: it removes explicit images, videos, and text from websites, social apps, and AI chatbots without blocking those destinations entirely.^1 The same app runs on iOS, macOS, Android, Windows, and Chrome, so household rules can follow phones and computers.^1
Parents can set internet downtime, choose which apps stay installed, watch for risky photos, get location alerts, and get an alert if someone tries to strip the protection off a device.^1 A device-level chatbot filter covers ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, and Claude on every plan, so a new tab or a new account does not dodge the rule.^1 Adults who want the filter for themselves pick an Ally — a spouse, mentor, or friend who hears when protection is paused — or a private AI Ally that talks through those requests without sharing a browsing history.^3
Canopy is subscription-based. The company says more than 200,000 families use it, and the New York State PTA still points members to the app for youth online safety.^1
