FreeShow is a free, open-source presenter that churches use to put lyrics, scripture, and media on the big screen.^1 Live Church Solutions, a 501(c)(3) ministry, builds it so congregations can spend money on mission instead of presentation licenses.^3
It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.^2 You can drive multiple outputs with different looks for the room, a livestream, and the stage, send video over NDI, stack backgrounds and overlays, add countdown timers, and play YouTube or Vimeo from the program.^1 Scripture search covers more than 200 Bible versions through API.Bible, lyric search can build slides from a song title, and you can import libraries from ProPresenter, EasyWorship, PowerPoint, OpenLP, and OpenSong.^1^5
Cloud sync is free through a ChurchApps account, so volunteers can share shows across computers.^6 FreeShow Remote on iOS and Android lets a pastor or worship leader preview and control the service from a phone or tablet.^7 One limit to plan around: FreeShow has no built-in CCLI integration, so churches handle lyric reporting themselves.^12
FreeShow is a project by Kristoffer Vassbø.^9 He started it in late 2021, with a first public release in February 2022, because he could not find free software that matched the expensive programs in features, usability, and looks.^2 The code is open source under GPL-3.0 and now lives in the ChurchApps organization on GitHub, where it shipped a stable release and new beta builds in October 2026.^10 Live Church Solutions is a volunteer-driven ministry in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, funded by partner churches and individual donors.^3
