helloHOPE is a free iOS and Android app for families navigating a child's medical diagnosis, made by helloHOPE, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation based in Marietta, Georgia.^1 It is built for the fog of appointments, sleepless nights, and hard decisions, when parents need hope they can return to each day.^1
The app delivers a daily reminder of truth written specifically for, and often by, families walking through a childhood diagnosis. Curated Scripture is paired with nature photography, and prayer prompts are organized by category for moments when words are hard to find. Stories from other families sit alongside calming instrumental music by Stanton Lanier, and lock screens keep a reminder of hope on the phone.^1
helloHOPE grew out of founders Mary Beth and Andrew Thomas's own experience after their daughter was diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis shortly after her first birthday.^3 In a published interview, co-founder Mary Beth Thomas recalled that their daughter's doctor first said, "Don't google it," and explained: "We knew that we wanted to curate a place online where parents facing a medical diagnosis could find hope and strength for the journey!"^5 helloHOPE was born in July 2015 with a mission of providing hope-filled stories and resources to families facing medical adversity.^6 Beside the app, the organization still runs Stories of Hope, Meals of Hope, and Free Parking Day.^7
