The faith.tools add-on for Wisephone II is no longer being maintained

At the time of writing (Jul 18, 2025), I’ve noticed that updates, bug fixes, requested app reviews and approvals, and new features for Wisephone II have slowed.
As someone who cares deeply for the Techless mission, the team, and the greater community, I’ve decided to pause active advocacy for the Wisephone II within faith.tools until there’s renewed momentum.
Requests for faith-based apps on the Wisephone II can be added and approved only at the attention and action of the Techless team.
Here's some background...
I, Cameron Pak, worked at Techless from August 2024 to May 2025 as a jack of many trades to help design and develop the Wisephone II OS experience and Wisephone Portal.
I saw with Wisephone I that maintaining focus and resources was a challenge, and I hope that the Wisephone II can continue to thrive with ongoing support and enhancements.
The Wisephone II almost didn't see the light of day. It's by God's grace that we got the phone created and shipped.
I recognize that small teams face a very tough balance about where to dedicate resources.
To the Techless team: I believe there’s a wonderful opportunity to continue supporting the Wisephone II community, and I hope renewed efforts can help the device reach its full potential.
This doesn't mean it's the end of the road for Wisephone II at all, but I hope this letter sparks the team's energy and efforts to focus on the Wisephone II community.
I long for a day where I can take down this blog post because it'd no longer be true.
