Pray Shield pairs daily Christian prayer with a pause for your most distracting apps. At four set hours across the day, the apps you chose rest behind Apple Screen Time protection until you have prayed, so a moment with God comes before the next scroll.^1 Each prayer hour takes about two to three minutes, in the morning, at midday, and in the evening, with an optional night hour, and the rhythm works even when the app itself is closed.^1
The prayers are the Church's own. You can pray the Rosary with the mysteries of the day, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Angelus, the Memorare, an evening examination of conscience, and guided prayers for worry, grief, and gratitude, alongside the feasts, saints, and seasons of the Church year.^1 The complete Bible is built in and works offline, and widgets keep the verse of the day, the next prayer hour, and the Church year in view.^1 The pause is an invitation, not a punishment: you can pray and continue when you genuinely need an app, or consciously skip an hour, and the app's own rule is no streaks, no scores, and no shame.^1
Pray Shield is built by Damian Witkowski of Essen, Germany, who is named as the seller on the App Store and as the data controller in its privacy policy.^2 It is made with Catholic prayer and the Church year in mind, and its core rhythm is open to anyone who wants a short Christian pause, with Catholic, Protestant, and open prayer styles supported.^1 Your prayer stays yours: there is no account and no advertising, and your prayers, intentions, and journal never leave your iPhone. The only statistics the app sends are anonymous and content-free, and they can be switched off in its settings.^1
The heart of Pray Shield is free, including the app protection, the four prayer hours, the offline Bible, the Rosary by decades, and today's feast. An optional Plus subscription, billed through Apple, adds the full 3D Rosary, all the guided prayers, Bible notes and highlights, the whole Church year, and extra widgets.^1^4
