You know you should read the Bible more — but where do you even start? Between the ancient poetry, genealogies, and prophetic visions, it's easy to feel lost before you've barely begun. BibleProject exists for exactly this moment: to help you see the Bible not as a disconnected collection of religious texts, but as one carefully crafted story that leads to Jesus.^1

The BibleProject app brings together hundreds of free animated videos, in-depth podcast conversations, seminary-level classes, annotated articles, and Scripture reading tools — all in one place, completely free. Every resource is designed to help you develop real skills for reading the Bible on its own terms: understanding its literary genres, tracing themes from Genesis to Revelation, and discovering the ancient context that makes familiar passages come alive in ways you never expected. The app tracks your progress across videos, podcasts, and classes so you can pick up right where you left off.^2

Founded in 2014 by Tim Mackie (a biblical scholar with a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Jewish Studies) and Jon Collins (a visual storyteller and designer), BibleProject started with a whiteboard, two videos, and the conviction that complex biblical themes could be made approachable through art and conversation. What began as a crowdfunded experiment in Portland, Oregon has grown into a global nonprofit with content in over 50 languages, partnering with organizations like YouVersion for initiatives such as Global Bible Month.^3

Why Christians Love BibleProject: "I was supernaturally changed in my late 30s so I came to Jesus fresh unhindered by years of limited teaching — there were numerous parts of the Bible that never made sense and so many dots I couldn't connect. These guys continue to clear those connections up and every time something doesn't seem to fit I look to see how I can read it to better understand."^5 Users describe the app as practically "a free seminary education in your pocket" — one reviewer shared how BibleProject's resources "taken my understanding of the Bible to a level that I never thought I would have."^5 Another wrote: "I've actually been struggling over the last few months, after almost a year clean and sober... Thank goodness we have a Patient ABBA, that is full of Grace. Your movement reaches more people than you know."^5 A teacher in Japan uses the app regularly to prepare Bible studies for her church, calling it her favorite resource for understanding Scripture.^6
