Ever read Jeremiah 29:11 and thought God was speaking just to you? The original Hebrew says otherwise — it's addressed to y'all, the entire exiled community of Israel. That's the kind of clarity Y'all Version (YALL) brings to Scripture, and it changes how you read almost every page.^1

Created by John Dyer, a professor at Dallas Theological Seminary and VP for Enrollment and Educational Technology, YALL is a Bible translation over a decade in the making. It uses "y'all" wherever the Hebrew or Greek text addresses a group rather than an individual, and renders God's covenant name as YHWH instead of the traditional "the LORD." The result is a translation that recovers the communal heart of Scripture — reminding readers that God's promises, commands, and presence are for His people together, not just for isolated individuals.^2

Based on the American Standard Version with updates from the World English Bible, YALL leans word-for-word while staying readable. Beyond the signature "y'all," it features small-cap divine pronouns (ʜᴇ, ʜɪᴍ, ʜɪꜱ), literal Hebrew idioms rendered into English, and thoughtful vocabulary choices like "siblings" for adelphoi and "ethnic group" for ethnos. The translation is available to read free online at yallversion.com, through the YouVersion Bible App, and in print via Amazon.^3

YALL has been endorsed by scholars including Ted A. Campbell (Albert C. Outler Professor of Wesley Studies at SMU's Perkins School of Theology) and Nika Spaulding (Resident Theologian at St. Jude Oak Cliff). It has also been featured in sermons at Irving Bible Church, Muhlenberg Lutheran Church, and in coverage by KERA (Dallas's NPR affiliate).^4

Why Christians Love It

"Thankful this translation shows the communal nature of so much of the Bible that can be harder to see in some other English translations."^5

"The Y'all Version is NOT a gimmick! Problem solved — the Y'all version helps the Bible student make the difference clear." — Tim Wildsmith, Bible Reviews & More^6

"One of my favorite recent finds is a brand-new translation of the Bible called the Y'ALL Version. Fun, right?" — Chandler Navarrete on LinkedIn^7
