Founded by August Milazzo (also founder of ClientsIO, a business-broker marketing platform) and based in Irvine, California, Sanctuary launched publicly in April 2026, positioning itself as "the world's first faith-centered AI for everyday use."^2 The app affirms core Christian doctrines — the Trinity, Christ's divinity, salvation by grace, and the sanctity of life — and roots every response in Scripture (ESV).^2 Users can select from 10 denomination perspectives (Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Pentecostal, Anglican, Non-Denominational, Orthodox, and Reformed), and the AI shapes its answers to respect each tradition's theology.^1

Beyond spiritual counsel, Sanctuary handles everyday tasks — recipes, career advice, writing, schoolwork — but with a Christian foundation woven into every answer. It offers three AI modes: Standard (1 credit, fast everyday answers), Pro (5 credits, deeper reasoning), and Deep Research (10 credits, multi-source cited reports).^4 Other tools include guided prayer with reverent voice audio, daily devotionals, Bible study with historical context, faith-inspired image generation, web search, document generation (Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Google Docs), camera and file upload, location-aware answers, and voice chat.^4

Every paid plan includes Sanctuary Kids, a dedicated mode for ages 8–16 with 4-digit PIN-protected parental controls, full chat transcript access for parents, screen time limits, content filtering, and weekly activity reports. Kids can chat with 10 Bible Hero characters, embark on choose-your-own-adventure stories through biblical settings, play faith-based games (Bible trivia, word games, virtue challenges), create art, journal, and get homework help — all filtered through a biblical worldview. The safety page publishes explicit content rules: no sexual/violent content, no self-harm encouragement, no personal-info sharing, no content contradicting core Christian values, and no secrets from parents.^5

Sanctuary offers 26 purpose-built AI tools for pastors, teachers, and church leaders — including full sermon manuscripts, one-click sermon packs, children's lesson plans, multi-week Series mode, Bible study guides, devotionals, pastoral care letters, funeral homilies, and church newsletters — powered by a Ministry Profile system that learns a church's denomination, age groups, and context once and applies it to all future outputs. Documents are saved to a searchable, editable library and can be exported as professional PDFs.^6

When a referred friend or family member subscribes, Sanctuary plants a real tree through Plant With Purpose, a Christian nonprofit combining reforestation with community development — confirmed still active on the About page in July 2026.^1 An Ambassador Program also pays recurring monthly commissions to PayPal based on active subscriber referrals.^7
