Ever feel spiritually grounded on Sunday but disconnected by Wednesday? ThyWord was built for those six days between Sundays — a voice-first prayer companion that listens when you speak and responds with Scripture matched to your moment.^1
The concept is simple: open the app, tap the prayer button, and speak aloud. Whether you're expressing gratitude, carrying anxiety, or seeking guidance, ThyWord captures your spoken words and surfaces a Bible passage that speaks to the heart of what you're praying about. There are no playlists to choose, no guided meditations to queue up — just your voice and God's Word. Every verse is saved to a personal prayer history so you can look back on what God has spoken over your life.^2
ThyWord was founded by Ajith Joseph, a Jacksonville-based father of four, who was inspired by his grandmother's lifelong commitment to daily prayer. "She used to tell our family that at least one person should spend time in God's presence every single day," Joseph said. "That stayed with me across every move, every career change, every season of life." His co-founder, Bijees Raj, previously built ChapelDesk, a platform helping churches build their online presence. Together they launched ThyWord on Ash Wednesday 2026, partnering with churches across denominations to help congregations build daily prayer habits.^3
Why Christians Love It"After long, draining shifts, ThyWord lets me pray on my drive home. It brings Scripture that speaks to exactly what I'm carrying. It's become my decompression time with God." — Cornelius Demetrius Greene, Early User^4
"What I love about ThyWord is how simple and calming it is. No noise, no clutter — the interface feels thoughtful and peaceful, making it easy to just focus on the Word." — Amber Ruise, Early User^4
"ThyWord fits so naturally into my day. I just speak what I'm feeling, and the verse comes back with so much clarity. It feels less like an app and more like a quiet conversation with God." — Brook Thomas, Early User^4
