Sword of the Spirit is a Bible app from indie developer Nolan Ng (Couch Brotato) that turns reading Scripture into an RPG-style journey. You level stats such as Joy and Peace, equip armor, and face enemies named Lust, Addiction, Anger, and Envy as you go.^1 The same app still works as a conventional reader, with highlighting, notes, translations, and a Journal that gathers annotated verses by book or chapter.^2
Campaign mode presents a reading plan as levels. Every few levels you meet an encounter and can answer a question about recent reading for a damage boost. Quests, explorable rooms with gear, a forge that breaks unused equipment into scrap, a skills screen, plus daily and weekly challenges sit beside the reader.^1 Raid bosses with a leaderboard appear in shipped updates.^2
It is built in Godot and free on Google Play, the App Store, and in the browser from the Itch.io Early Access page, which is still marked In development.^3 The same developer also ships Light of Mine, a community-driven Bible and audio app.^4
