When I want a verse-by-verse companion that doesn't assume I have a seminary library, I go to Enduring Word — Pastor David Guzik's free commentary on every book from Genesis to Revelation.^1 He never set out to write a commentary. The notes began as digital teaching outlines in the late 1980s; in 1996 he sent them to Blue Letter Bible, and those outlines became the commentary people still use.^2
For more than thirty years the teaching has stayed online and free. Enduring Word exists to promote discipleship and evangelism through Guzik's notes, and the core materials are used around the world without charge.^1 On the site I can pick a book and chapter, search the notes, and open the commentary in other languages; the iOS and Android apps carry the same Genesis-to-Revelation study.^1^5
Print editions and Logos or Mantis editions are there if I want the notes offline or inside Bible software. The heart of the work stays free to use.^3
