Ever felt like the Bible is a collection of disconnected stories rather than one cohesive narrative? Bible Brief exists to change that. Built by Andrew Hansen and the Bible Literacy Foundation — a nonprofit dedicated to helping the church learn Scripture through modern tools — Bible Brief walks you through the entire Bible story in 10 chronological steps and 3 progressive levels of depth.^1
What makes Bible Brief stand out is its layered learning approach. Start with a 10-lesson foundational overview of the Bible's major eras — from Creation through the Last Things. Then go deeper with 60 lessons covering Levels 1 and 2. Finally, commit to the full 246-lesson curriculum that covers the story in rich detail.^2 Choose your own pace: a 2-week quick start, a 12-week quarter, or the complete journey over roughly a year — with weekday learning and weekends for rest.^1
You can engage through the app, the podcast (260 episodes and counting on all major platforms), or the companion book — or all three together.^3 The app features verse-synced audio Bibles, interactive AI transcripts of podcast episodes, structured courses with quizzes, a gamified reward system where you earn "Rubies" for completing lessons, and a new Explore Mode that lets you browse any lesson freely.^4 Group Learning for churches and small groups is on the way.^1
"I've been in church and reading the Bible for years but rarely enjoyed it the way that I am now. Each day is just enough without it being overwhelming. Highly recommended both for long time Bible readers and those who are learning the story of the Bible for the first time."^4
"This App is an incredible aid for providing the overview framework of chronology, consistent themes and basic framework coupled with detailed analysis and insights for the in depth study of the Bible. It is obvious that God is using this App to build His Kingdom and equip those of us who are hungry and thirsty for the Word of the Lord."^4
The Bible Literacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Rockwall, Texas. The foundation aligns with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message and holds to verbal plenary inspiration of Scripture.^3 Andrew Hansen — who previously worked in investment banking and serves as a deacon at his local church — poured thousands of hours into creating the content through deep study of commentaries, lexicons, academic journals, and consultations with Bible scholars.^3
Bible Brief is available on iOS and Android, and the companion book was published in December 2024.^5
