PrayerMate organizes your prayer life into personalized categories (family, church, world missions, personal needs) and presents a curated selection of prayer cards each day, so you can simply swipe through and pray without feeling overwhelmed.^2 A daily reminder nudges you at your chosen time, and over the weeks, the app cycles through everyone on your lists so no one falls through the cracks.
What sets PrayerMate apart is its deep integration with the global Church. Over 500 churches and Christian organizations — including Open Doors, London City Mission, Crosslinks, and UCCF — publish live prayer feeds directly in the app, so you can stay current with what God is doing worldwide.^3 It also bundles Operation World's country-of-the-day feed, the Anglican Collect of the Day, and Tim Kerr's "Take Words With You" manual of 2,500 Bible verses organized by prayer topic.^2
Prayer groups let you privately share requests with your spouse, small group, or friends and pray for each other daily — no need to wait until you're together in person.^2 Churches can even set up their own feeds through the PrayerMate Platform, building a culture of prayerfulness across their whole congregation.^4
PrayerMate is a ministry of Discipleship Tech, a registered UK charity (No. 1178838), and is funded primarily through voluntary donations rather than ads or paywalls.^5 The app is free with optional patron subscriptions to support ongoing development. In 2025, the team launched a major v9 rewrite with improved cloud syncing and encryption, and the app now approaches 675,000 total downloads with 1.8 million prayer items prayed per month.^5
